This weekend would see the running of the North Eastern Car Club's Rallysprint in the Porepunkah region. On a beautiful blue sky day with the mountains in the backdrop still covered in snow, Bright is a majestic place at this time of the year.

Being a pace noted event, a quality field of competitors were drawn to 60km event. A field of 35 would take the start for first time Director, Gary Anstis. The front of the field was filled with some fast driving turbo 4wds in the hands of Eli Evans, Justin Dowell, Jesse Robbins and Craig Morris while Brendan Reeves be amongst them despite being in a standard Subaru RS Impreza. .

Some of the teams were looking to this event as a shake down before the Great Lakes Rally in a week
