The Victorian Rally Scrutiny Group though the VRAP wishes to advise the following.

1. In the past Catalytic Converters have not been subject to inspection at scrutiny, although all post 1986 vehicles have been required to have them. Effective immediately, these will be checked at event scrutiny and any post 1986 vehicle without catalytic converters fitted will fail scrutiny and not be allowed

to start in the event until rectified. This is a legal requirement for registered cars and those on RP Permits.

2. HID lights are not permitted to be added to the low beam or combined high/low lights of any vehicle. Only vehicles originally fitted by the manufacturer with ADR compliant lights are permitted to have such. Any vehicle presented to event scrutiny with these fitted will fail and not be allowed to start until rectified. This is a legal requirement for all registered cars and those on RP Permits.

Both these items will be checked at all event scrutiny inspections and any vehicle not complying will fail and the log book endorsed. Any vehicle presented for RP Inspection without a catalytic converter fitted or HID lights fitted to the low beams will fail that inspection.
