The forth running of the Millard Memorial trail is set to bring the small township of Heywood in western Victoria alive as part of the communities inaugural Wood, Wine and Roses Festival on February 26th and 27th. The event is held every year in memory of the late Graham and Kathleen Millard who were well regarded in the area and state for both directing and competing in rallies for 20 years. This year's event will is once again be a SEAC (South Eastern Automobile Club) club event to keep cost to a minimum, Entry fee will be $140 + $15 for non SEAC
Crews will enjoy some of the best roads the area has to offer, over two divisions of competitive sections. Friday evening will see the cars group at the Heywood Recreation Reserve to prepare maps and route instructions before heading out to the Annya state forest for division one of the Trial. Crews will compete in 5 stages (approx 120km), Event Director Mr Ash Oldacre confirmed “some of the roads in this event have not been used in years, and crews will enjoy some exciting stages of Rallying”. Crews will then regroup Saturday morning for 2 fully routed charted sections across Mt Clay and back, these roads are regarded in the area as, “exciting and thrilling to drive”.
