First conducted in 1961, the Victorian Rally Championship (VRC) is the highest level of amateur rallying in Victoria. In 2019, crews will battle for the title over 7 rounds with a mix of blind and pace-noted events travelling across the State and a round in NSW – starting with the opening round in Mitta Mountain district, then the Ada River Rally in Noojee for the first pace noted event. Back on the calendar for 2019 is Marysville Stages before heading to NSW for the Rally of the Bay in June. The Eureka Rush has moved to August and will be combined with the Australian Rally Championship event in Ballarat/Pyrenees region. Yarra Valley Stages will again run in September as the penultimate round, and finally the championship will conclude with the Akademos Rally in Alexandra. The series is open to all PRC, G2, Group N, S2000, Historic, Classic and Club Rally Cars.
The events in the 2019 VRC promise to be organised to the same high standards that competitors have come to expect in Victoria. Many events include a ceremonial start, to give the local community a chance to check out the cars and meet the competitors, spectator points, and a focussed pre-event promotional campaign, designed to attract more competitors, officials, spectators and sponsors.
